Poet, Educator, Creator
"Each one of us has a story to tell..."
Fly Vida is a Bronx-based spoken word poet, teaching and performing artist, and a full-time educator. Prose found her more than 15 years ago and brought her to the stage during her time studying at Fordham University. What began as a hobby transformed into a mission to raise awareness of turmoil and celebrate the sacred.
Fly Vida's poetry captures her sentiments regarding the current state of society ("Dear Donald Trump"), the need for education equity ("No Unnecessary Testing") and reveres the power of the Feminine ("Womanness").
"Napkin Notes: musings from the barstool."
A debut collection of poetry.
The first book of poetry from Fly Vida. Once fragmented thoughts that were scribbled on bar napkins and notebook paper, this collection explores one's solitary thoughts while in the presence of life around them.
