Born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, and replanted in Brooklyn, NY during the 1950s.
His interest in art began before he can remember. Louis ("Tio") could be found on the playground after school, or perhaps on a Sunday afternoon sketching the island from pictures and visits, or musing over the streets of his block in Brooklyn and the Lower East Side in New York City. His sketches would be placed into an ever-expanding notebook, filled with pieces of scrap paper.
Currently based in Ballston Spa, NY, and adding to his collections by the day; his craft has expanded from impressionist folk art to sculpting jewelry from recycled wire and glass. His woodworking skills have sharpened and he's found scrap material to make frames, engraving them with original designs.
Past events have included benefits hosted by the Saratoga Hospital (2017, 2018 and 2019) and his work is on display in cafes and local shops around the Capital Region.
Tio has filled art requests and is on display in the homes of recipients.
